.. a curious thing. But sobering. Tasmania
.. I was searching for a word on my English vocabulary when, quite by chance, I came across in definition of the word " Butchery" (" slaughter").
He says the 'Oxford dictionary:
Butch-ery : noun , a cruel, violent and Unnecessary killing 2 Preparing the work of meat to be sold
I find it very interesting that the first meaning (not the second, first) is that of "killing cruel, violent and useless" and not commonly known to us which covers the preparation of meat. It is also interesting how the two meanings are curiously joined, bringing a quasi-logical deduction: first we are told that the slaughter is cruel, violent and useless, then we are told that it is also the action that concerns the preparation of the meat which is then sold to be eaten. Conclusion (logic, at this point): the meat you eat comes from an act cruel, violent and useless. Not bat an eyelid, right?
So, folks, think twice before eating your steak. I do not think I need to say more .... Go Vegan!
