Star Wars Cooking Utensils

.. Review: "The whale warriors"

Warriors Whale - Peter Heller, 2008, ed. Corbaccio

When I learned of the existence of this book about the adventures of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society not deny that I expressed some skepticism. A book on the now historic business association that is opposed with all his strength to the Japanese whaling could in fact prove to be a boring and overflowing Treaty of scientific data from which the web is full.
From the first pages of the novel, however, I had to change his mind.
With a method worthy of the best modern sociological school, or by means of participant observation, the journalist Peter Heller recounts his personal experience on the ship Farley Mowa t during the campaign against whaling in the waters of the 'Antarctic in October 2005.

As I said, we're talking about a novel: from the first page, and then, the writer draws us with a narrative flowing and full of details about life on the ship. The departure, the crew of strange characters as wonderful, the food strictly vegan , the incomparable beauty of one of the few unspoilt places on earth.
The description of nautical terms, which slows down a little narration is matched by moments of convivial life aboard the ship: poker games, stories, interviews with crew members. Just these interviews give the reader an overview of why this unparalleled forty vegans believe endangers their lives to save the whales in the International Shrine dedicated to them, but which is constantly and brutally violated by unscrupulous people. In particular, the long interviews with Captain Paul Watson accompany us in a world where the life of a whale is a sacred and untouchable, in which a philosophy of compassion and love comes into conflict with the real world, blind face of the havoc that insensitive nations make every second.
The moments of tension, during the chases and attacks on the Japanese whaling fleet, season leaving us breathless.
There are, then, the relevant scientific and interesting information about the animal world and the ocean in particular: data, they, more than any other thing they do reflect and light a player involved in uncontrollable rage, and swept into a world desperately wonderful .
